A Collectors Retreat

Color, texture, and detailing are used to create an inviting home that showcases an impressive collection of art and eclectic objects.

A View Out, A View In

Interior vignettes compliment the architecture with its multiple visual axes connecting interior and exterior living spaces. We utilize artwork, views, color, and furnishings to help organize and guide one’s progression through the space.

Custom Detailing

Our projects are customized to reflect the tastes of our clients and compliment the architecture. We work closely with local and international artisans to realize our designs. Custom and vintage furnishings share their connection to color, texture, artistry, and artisanal craftsmanship.

About the Project

Artwork is the central focus of many of our interiors. We create spaces that enhance, organize, and provide the backdrop for art and our clients’ lives.

The interiors were designed to create a dynamic dialogue between our clients’ vast art collections with exquisitely tailored architecture. A mix of color, pattern, scale, and collectible furniture combine to express the deeper interests of the client. The result can be a visually rich and compelling space, expressive of the joys of collecting.

The foundation was set with wide plank oak flooring purchased from Europe. A careful mix of colors provides a warm glow, while leather, lacquer, and stone offer a textural richness. Door and cabinet hardware and the decision to have a hanging art mobile over the dining room table deliver unexpected moments of joy throughout the modernist design.

Process

A complex mix of colors and textures – customized rugs, hand-selected leather walls, subtle color variations in lacquer cabinets – resulted from sampling, research, and dedication to a craft of excellence.
